Thinning Hair and Chemicals
Posted by MariC
I notice that my hair is a lot thinner after menopause. Do you guys think this is part of the natural cycle of aging? Can something be done? Also, do you think that chemicals in shampoo and conditioners can actually aggravate this? i.e. .... Sulfate and Hair Loss I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but have any people had success with products to slow down or stop hair thinning?
Well, I think our hair does change as we age. If you think you have developed a sensitivity to chemicals in your hair products, it could be time for a change. My own hair is thinner than it used to be. Look for some natural shampoo like Belegenza to see if it helps. It is, of course, natural to lose some hair every day. But our body should be replacing it with new growth. That sees to slow down as we get older.
Dawn, As you probably already are aware, we can also have our hair cut and styled to appear thicker as well. What hairdo may have worked for us in the past may no longer be viable. There are also hair extensions--strands, really, that you can discreetly clip in your hair. You could discuss this with your stylist. I've seen women in my salon have them inserted.
